Waukesha Mulls Closing Elementary Schools
Erin Richards: The committee detailed each of the seven schools in its report and the pros and cons of closing the selected five. Another unexpected finding in the text: 23% of Waukesha students attend a school outside their attendance area, either for program purposes or by way of school choice.
Haessly said the School Board will receive a hard copy of the report this week and will likely choose a date to talk about the report in one or more special sessions at the board meeting next week.
After that, the administration and the School Board will likely form their own recommendations about which school or schools to close.
