Universities On The Brink

Higher education in America, historically the envy of the world, is rapidly growing out of reach. For the past quarter-century, the cost of higher education has grown 440%, according to the National Center for Public Policy and Education, nearly four times the rate of inflation and double the rate of health care cost increases. The cost increases have occurred at both public and private colleges.

Like many situations too good to be true--like the dot-com boom, the Enron bubble, the housing boom or the health care cost explosion--the ever-increasing cost of university education is not sustainable.

Funny no howling from the left on this. After all, is it not true that the better educated have better health care? Why does the left-controlled education establishment price itself out of reach for the average and thereby deny a majority a chance at a healthy life? What's worse is that women and minorities are hardest hit.
Since public and private universities are too big to fail, the government should take complete control. No more travel for university execs. Furthermore, universities should be forced to provide "green educations". Never mind that nobody will want to earn one of these degrees. The government can in turn buy up these useless degrees and hand them out to federal employees.

Just commenting on the ridiculous by being ridiculous. Time honored practice of sarcasm. Lighten up.
When price escalations like this happen anywhere else, congressional hearings are demanded. CEO's are trotted out and lectured to by outraged legislators. No big deal here though. I guess you think it is justified.
