November 29, 2011Madison School District agrees to release teachers' sick notesThe Madison School District has agreed to terms for releasing more than 1,000 sick notes submitted by teachers who missed work in February during mass protests over collective bargaining.Jack Craver: Many friends of mine are upset with the legal battle the Wisconsin State Journal waged to obtain the 1,000 sick notes Madison teachers used to get off work during the union protests in February. My own radio host and boss, Kurt Baron, referred to the paper as the "Wisconsin State Urinal" in describing his decision to no longer have the paper as his home page online. Some called into the show and promised to cancel their subscriptions.Posted by Jim Zellmer at November 29, 2011 8:43 PM Subscribe to this site via RSS/Atom: Newsletter signup | Send us your ideas Comments
MMSD's reaction to Walker's planned destruction of the public school system was plainly idiot. Unlike MMSD administration, at least the teachers were protesting in support of the Madison school system, whereas MMSD was publicly kissing the Governor's hind-end. That the teachers were "forced" to use suspect methods to support the public schools by faking sickness is MMSD administration's fault. I wonder what the MMSD administration would look like if they had a backbone. Posted by: Larry Winkler at November 29, 2011 9:03 PMPost a comment
