June 22, 2012Raising Taxes & Cutting the School Budget in Dekalb, GADeKalb County property owners will pay more in school taxes next year while class sizes rise under an austerity budget approved by the school board Thursday.Dekalb County schools will spend $774,600,000 to support approximately 95,958 students ($8,072/student). Madison plans to spend about $15,132 / student during the 2012-2013 budget cycle, about 46% greater than DeKalb schools.
