MMSD to study high schools before "redesigning" them

Madison school Superintendent Art Rainwater has put the brakes on recently proposed changes to the city's high schools as part of an effort to make long-term progress.

That means putting a hold on the proposed elimination of accelerated classes at East. In addition, there will be no changes in the four-block schedule at La Follette at least until a comprehensive look at the entire high school experience in Madison is completed, Rainwater confirmed in an interview this morning.
